Lift Schools is the admissions authority for our school. Applications for places will be made in accordance with the local authority’s coordinated admission arrangements. These should be submitted using the Common Application Form and will be administered by the applicant’s home local authority.
The secondary school admission round for Year 7 places opens in September each year, with a statutory national closing date on 31 October. Late applications may affect a child’s chances of securing a place.
Applications can be made online via your local authority’s admissions website. Please note that some local authorities do not send letters to parents about making an application, so we recommend checking their website for full details.
Our Open Evening for prospective students and their families takes place in early October. We encourage everyone to attend, but if you are unable to do so, we may be able to offer alternative tour dates. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
National Offer Day, when school places are confirmed, falls in March. Any objections to the determined admission arrangements should be submitted to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA).

All In-Year admission requests come direct to the school from the parent/carer, not through the Local Authority.
Parents/carers are required to complete the online 'In-Year Admissions Form' below.
Prior to making an In-Year application to Lift Broadlands Academy, parent/carers and students need to be aware of our high expectations. All policies and procedures must be followed and supported. All new admissions must also agree to:
- Adhere to the school’s Attendance and Punctuality policy ensuring attendance is above 95%
- Adhere to the school’s Disruption Free Learning Behaviour System
- Adhere to the Uniform Policy ensuring correct uniform is worn at all times
- Parent/carers and student to attend Parents' Evenings as required
- Parent/carers to attend all meetings arranged by Lift Broadlands staff regarding their child
Lift Broadlands has an agreed Published Admission Number (PAN) of 180 for entry into Year 7 for 2024/25. The school will accordingly admit at least 180 pupils in the relevant age group each year if sufficient applications are received. All applications will be admitted if 180 or fewer apply.
Any objections to the determined admission arrangements should be submitted to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA)
