Students celebrate best ever GCSE success

Isaac Hurst achieved grade 7s, 8s and 9s in all subjects
Calleigh Burgess achieved a 6, four 7s and four 8s
Callum White achieved two 6s, three 7s and four 8s
Anais Croft achieved three 6s, three 7s and three 8s
Imogen Fox achieved one 9, five 8s, one 7, one 6 and one 4
Ben Hillier achieved two 5s, four 6s and two 7s

Students and staff at Lift Broadlands - ‘the small school with a big heart’ - are celebrating today as the young people receive their GCSE and vocational results, with the school achieving the best results in its history.

After years of hard work, students are seeing the results of their efforts and making plans for their next steps, whether that is A-levels, vocational or technical education. Staff are also celebrating alongside them as the school community comes together to mark this important moment.

Students have demonstrated the school values of effort and bravery as they have attended additional sessions in their holidays and after school in a bid to achieve these milestone results. The effort from all of the staff both academically and pastorally has meant that students felt prepared for their exams and confident about their future choices.

‍From future electricians and elite dancers to aspiring vets, A-Level scholars, and a future Royal Marine, Broadlands students are heading off to an incredible range of exciting destinations this year, having secured the grades they need.

Isaac Hurst achieved grade 7s, 8s and 9s in all subjects and plans to become an electrician
Calleigh Burgess achieved a 6, four 7s and four 8s and is going on to study dance at the Bristol Conservatoire
Callum White achieved two 6s, three 7s and four 8s and is going on to study A-levels at St Brendan’s whilst swimming for the next generation Great Britain swim team.
Anais Croft achieved three 6s, three 7s and three 8s and is going on to study A-levels at St Brendan’s with the goal to become a vet
Imogen Fox achieved a 9, five 8s, a 7, a 6 and a 4 and is going on to study A-levels at St Mary Redcliffe and Temple in Bristol
Ben Hillier achieved two 5s, four 6s and two 7s and is going to be joining the Royal Navy as a marine engineer submariner on the fast track leadership programme.

Principal at Lift Broadlands, Laura Stone, said of the students’ success:
‍“I am extremely proud of the well deserved achievements of the class of 2026. These exam results represent the school’s best GCSE outcomes since the Covid-19 pandemic. As well as congratulating the young people receiving their results, I would like to thank their parents and our staff who have gone above and beyond to help them to secure their next steps.”

Regional Education Director at Lift Schools, Karl Sampson said:
